A graduate of both Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, and The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Roberts practiced dermatology in Amarillo for 30 years. Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Roberts completed an Internal Medicine internship in the US Air Force, and served both on active duty and in the New Mexico Air National Guard for over twelve years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He spent five of those years as a Flight Surgeon, caring for pilots and their families, and flying in many different helicopters, fighters, and tactical aircraft. Along the way he earned both his pilot's license and a Masters Degree in Military History.
Dr. Roberts earned Board Certification in Dermatology in 1983, and passed the recertifation examination in 2009. He serves as Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. As a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, Dr. Roberts has participated in medical mission trips, including one to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2004, for which the American Academy of Dermatology recognized him with the annual award of "Members Making A Difference."
When not practicing dermatology, Dr. Roberts loves to spend time with his grandchildren, who share his love of farming and ranching.
